Yup, that would have been Conklin's Rainbow down there. Unfortunately this fine piece has long been sold.

From what I know if you look at North American Midway Entertainment's website, on their route list is the South Carolina State Fair. Conklin has had this spot since 1999 which was also the same year that I took the picture which was at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. So where does North American Midway Entertainment fit in? In 2004 Conklin Shows was sold to North American Midway Entertainment along with Farrow Shows, Astro Amusements and Thebault-Blomsness. Other rides that you may have seen were the Polar Express, Snowball Express, Tidal Wave, Wave Swinger and the Doppel Looping.

I remember riding that at the Big-E (a fair actually going on now) in Massachusetts. Haven't been there for a few years but the rides were always Conklin. I miss having a good fair to go to with actual good rides!

Yeah, you would have seen this ride back then. It was an era when Conklin brought in all the big German and Italian rides. Unfortunately most of them have been either traded or sold. All the shows seem to be doing that these days. Cost of fuel for the trucks is expensive so so long to the big multi-trailer rides.
