Took time from commissions to work on this personal piece. I am extremely stressed the H out because of the situation going down with the cats in lancaster. 98% fucking kill rate ... Poop with a gun shoot me... So yeah this was art to cheer me up. I've been dabbling at it for weeks now and finally finished it tonight. That one damn butterfly in the middle with the brown wings was the hardest thing to paint because I obsessed over the details even though it was freaking tiny and the detail gets lost when zoomed out.
From left to right, Dergy (Rothgard Durguson) brainy head strong go getter, Sinsen Ruga (first name Ruga) the anti-social outcasted probation bounded Tethican Alien, and Nim Piper Fletes - totally obsessed with frankenstein nerdy fan girl, in a future unexplored Ecuador examining radioactive bioluminecent Morpho butterflies. In the future, Earth is no longer inhabited by humans and it’s a mystery to the remaining earth colonies in space as to what happened to earth and why they left behind in the first place. The only clue is the radiation that remains on the surface and atmosphere. Present Earth in the story (A.N – After Nuke) is now inhabited by animals and plants that have evolved and adapted to the radiation, many have grown in immense size or are implants from other alien worlds as aliens had visited the planet trying to make it inhabitable for themselves or to help humanity. Many of the species thrive on radiation using it as a sort of radiosynthesis (think photosynthesis) and basically clean up the planet. The only way to approach earth for humans and other species of aliens who have not adopted to high levels of radiation is to undergo a Nanomeds vaccine especially designed to handle radiation. As for earth’s past abandonment, humans believe it was due to some nuclear war or disaster from the clues of the past, but the records have been lost and it’s been so long that it’s almost impossible to determine.
