Part two of two 'rail pics' for a future blog post regarding, believe it or not, trains =P
Interestingly enough, California trains have their own cars separate from the national Amtrak. Of course, they seem to run more frequently and are much, much cheaper than the national ones. This one is based on my many, many trips to the Bay Area taken via train (complete with my poor rendition of the Carquinez Strait, complete with overcast). Ironically, despite drawing this and the previous one from memory, this one seemed the hardest to recollect even though I tend to use it often >.>
Electrical Outlets and Wifi FTW ^.^

I've taken it once in a while when I go to LA, though most of the time I rely on LA Metro to get around (yay for relatives living next to the Red Line!). I haven't really driven much (have yet to get a license, and I lack a car), but I do see the convenience of driving. I've just been raised on using public transit that I can easily use both X3
I think I also used Metro to go to LA. I went to the LA Fair. I did a lot of time on public transit, both as a kid ans a young adult. I even got to get around on the San Diego Trolley for a couple of years when I lived down there. I actually didn't get a car or a license til I was 20. There's no rush til you need one. Once I got my first car, I now will only use buses if I have to drop of a car at the mechanic and to pick it up when it's done. I don't have anyone that can drive me places. If I did, I think that would be the last of my transit experiences. I still like the option of trains and buses but I'll always choose to drive if I can.
that was me on my way to furcon and back last january. (except of course, i'm a green cat instead of your fox, but what i mean by that was playing with my computer and getting on the net while i was riding down there, and i think even saying something about it on here on my way back) yah, the california cars were built by a different company (morrison knutson i think) then the amtrak ones (bn, i think (one of the alsthome companies) if not pullman-standard (if they still in some sense exist, possibly in the form of having been aquired by, i forget the common name bn goes by) but even less sure). the capitol corrider is basically invisioned as a commuter service. pretty darn nice for a commuter service though, and a relatively long distance one at that. from roseville to san jose is well over a hundred miles. closer to 200. i love riding it when i get the chance. which is usually only the once a year, if that, when i go to furcon in san jose. (and one of the five trains a day, goes all the way up to auburn (another 30 miles even further northest then i am) to tie up at night and leaves from there in the morning)
