In 1870 after winning the race with steam drilling machine John Henry walked out of C&O railroad tunnel in Talcott West Virginia with great pride only to collapse in a fellow workers arms and die with the hammer he use to beat the steam drill still in his hands.
The tunnel that John Henry help build was replaced by a bigger tunnel 1932 but his tunnel still exsits to this day and so dose the memory of the man who help build it.
