Here's my attempt at the meme.... I had few problems with Vasquez's style given I haven't seen Invader Zim at all.

A major problem with the Invader Zim style is that more or less everything was rounded and streamlined. You came pretty close to it when considering the lack of source material. Hum, thinking about it most of the things that were spiky could be considered sphere slices; I am guessing it was a style tailored to mesh with the over-budget 3d animation side of the production.
