Not necessarily. It's all black and white, so while it does have patterns to it, it would still be simple enough to, say, be printed on a bag, folder, or sketchbook. For that matter, considering the space between the lines in the design, I'm guess it could be turned into an embroidery badge with relative ease. (Granted, I'd have to confirm that with my mother...)
When I say "busy," it means two things:
1: Busy logo design constricts its printing capabilities. Something like this would have a difficult time being printed onto a 1" x 2" keychain or something, for example. Logos should be simple and to the point, not busy & "eye-candy" esque. This ties into my second point.
2: Eye-candy / busy / etc. logo designs are usually ones that people shy away from because they can't understand it, or its too much for them to take in. Logos should be specific, simplistic symbols which can be recognized & distinguished from any else. This, even with that concept, has way too much going on for people to happily approach it. I, for example, looked at this and kind of didn't know what to say; the patterning was all over the place and made it hard to read or recognize. People don't want that; they don't like to be challenged, unless its toward something they're interested in. This logo doesn't have any specific purpose, maybe besides advertising the artist, but if that was the case, how would they know that?
