I'm really hoping this one grows up to a more orange color. But even if he doesn't, He'll at least grow up with the BEST NAME. His mother, potatoe, looks JUST LIKE A POTATO and is about as docile as one, too. So here's to hoping that he grows up to be an equally fine lump of cute warm flesh.
Also that funny wet fur is just water, we had just put in the new water bottles and he was under them while it happened. PLOP.
As some of you may know,
vombatiformes and I recently became responsible for 10 baby hamsters (about a month or so ago we adopted Potato, who turned out to be pregnant - we would never breed a hamster)! We've decided to keep them until we can find them homes (as opposed to giving them to a pet store or overcrowded shelter), and as such, could use some help! Money around here has been pretty tight (especially since I STILL have not received pay from my summer job D:<), and today alone we spent $50 setting them up in their new homes - separating males from females.
Anyhow, to help balance out the costs, I'm offering a Hamster Sponsorship! If you donate anything $5 or more to distome@gmail.com, you get a sketch of this quality of your character and the hamster of your choice! Unfortunately I can't guarantee anything more than that at the moment, but if anybody donates a ridiculous amount. . . I don't know, we'll figure something out >.>
ALTERNATIVELY iif you or anyone you know would like to adopt this or any of our other baby hamsters PLEASE PM vombatiformes or me!! The sooner they find a permanent home the better! Adoption is free, but you've got to be able to pick them up here or at a halfway point (we live in North Western PA).

My hamster was my first pet. I was terrified id hurt him or scare him. Now hes a happy energetic little beast x3 I love him to pieces. I know people who think hamsters are boring, mine just fascinates me and hes so much fun to play with :3
No worries about the support, I wouldnt want these guys to go hungry or without :> Lots of people would have taken them back to the store or put them down. Its nice to see someone actually care for baby pets they get by accident. <3

We'd never let them go hungry or anything like that! We would've have taken on another hamster (and seeing that she's female and was being housed with a lot of other hamsters, we assumed she was pregnant) if we couldn't take care of her and her babies. Though it is of course harder on us financially, thus why we're looking for help, it's mostly that we want to be able to provide the BEST possible care for them, not just bare minimum. :3
