Double Take -- Preliminary Sketches
Some preliminary doodles and colouring on two raptors that I'll use as a model for something much larger. Its University related work, but I'll post the finished guys when they're done. Bought the most expensive paper I've purchased to date for them too ($4.50, for a piece of paper! and I had to buy two!)
The concept? I'll be hanging them on opposite walls of the classroom when I present. They're supposed to be staring at each other from afar, but that definitely doesn't make sense right now with them sitting side by side. But its a reflection piece that makes satire of how society, image and visual understanding of things change over time. That everything should be given a second look to really be understood, and that Hollywood and scientifically-based depictions aren't always right the first time around. Plus the teacher wanted us to do something 'outside of the usual' so I'm using the whole space between the images to make my point.
Anyways, all of my classes are punching me in the face with the whole "YOU NEED TO START ALL THIS STUFF NOW, I DON'T CARE" regime so I'm currently uber stressed and trying hard to not rant about specific things. Sorry if I turn into a piece of crap by the end of this semester.
