Another canine joins the Nanakiverse! This time I wanted to do something interesting with her lore~
Sierra is a unique kind of canine that exists in real life, called the Galveston Island coyote, or colloquially known as the "ghost wolf." They're basically hybrid coyotes that contain DNA of other canines, including grey and red wolves. The red wolf DNA is actually quite important, since it could be key to helping red wolf re-population! You can read about them here:

Despite the nickname, they're technically coyotes; they were born centuries ago from red wolves and coyotes marrying and producing new generations. Because of this they contain critical red wolf genetics that have been missing from modern red wolf lineage. But due to their hybrid status, they're rarely treated with the same respect as a pure-blooded species.
This is the social environment poor Sierra grew up in. This social ostracization lead to her developing a tough-as-nails attitude where they doesn't care what anyone sees her as. In her eyes, she's a wolf, and anyone who says otherwise can meet a fist to the face. She dropped out of college and earns money through side gigs; holding down a 9-5 just wasn't her style. She has a fierce attitude, but when she lets her guard down to tease and play with you, that's a sure sign you've gained her trust.
Of course, the lack of a stable life takes its toll on anyone, even her. And she found her heart aching to truly belong somewhere. One day, she caught wind about the Riverstone Wolf Pack, which had all kinds of wolves among its ranks. Maybe, she thought, that would be a way for her to carve out a new life for herself, and find a place where she truly belonged...
