Wilt Together

Drawing of Akkil & Ellia from my story. They are keeping each other, as long as it is possible.[Reference lines]
It was about a young wolfling with very dark fur, called Akkil.
He walked day and night at the edge of the universe, searching for answers.
An answer to why the world could not be a free land of compassion and love.
Death answered Akkil.
-Death “You’re the one pulling the strings of your destiny, Akkil”
-Akkil “If that is so, then why must it be cruel?!”
-Death “It is not. You are betrayed by life itself, yet you call for death”
-Akkil “You took my beloved Ellia from me”
-Akkil “From me…”
He reacted with such deep, fragile heartbreak that his body seemed ready to collapse.
-Death “Was your life worth the pain?”
Akkil did not answer.
He sat on the dirt beneath him, letting the breeze pull at his fur in the night like shredded silk.
-Akkil “Yes. Every moment of it”
-Death “Then you understand”
Akkil cried all his tears to the moon, begging for one last moment.
One last goodbye.
The moon heard his plea and placed a finger upon his forehead, showing transparent empathy for his suffering.
Akkil closed his eyes and let fate choose for him.
-Akkil “I am all yours…”
Then the stars aligned to resemble his Ellia, creating her form.
A perfect wolfling of silk fur and tender skin, descending from the sky like the last light.
Akkil, hope bright in his eyes, reached out his paw and took his beloved’s hand.
-Ellia “I’m here”
-Ellia “The moon has heard your plea”
Akkil pulled her softly close and placed a hand at her back.
Ellia knew without asking.
A final dance.
They danced in an intimate way.
Akkil was terrible at it, but Ellia did not mind.
He stepped on her feet, she did not mind.
He pulled her too hard, she did not mind.
She smiled through the pain of losing him once more.
Death watched them and waited for his moment.
-Ellia “Don’t cry for me”
-Ellia “Live your life and forget me”
-Akkil “I can’t… I would turn the earth itself if it meant finding you”
Ellia did not answer.
She did not have to.
When the time came, Death took her hand and carried her back into the night sky.
Akkil kept his eyes on her for as long as he could.
Every second mattered.
Then he let nature take him.Story reference: The Broken Bridge of Lumanis (chapter 4 - Burden)
