An Unplanned Experiment in Water Absorption (by WaddlyDerg)
It took... longer than one would have liked to escape the Crinkly Nexus, but Jordan had managed it once again. Much to his chagrin, the diapercritter-ification managed to stick after he left the diaper-themed between-space.
Being a living diaper creature in daily life took some getting used to. For one: your clothes sure aren't gonna fit that poofy pillow-waist of yours, nor your thicker and softer body. Some glamour magic to make him look normal kept questions at bay, but furs could still hear the rustling and bump into the 'empty space' around him. And hiding the waddle his waist enforced? Certainly took some effort. Until he could figure out a cure, this was going to be the most normal he could be.
And normal it did become. Perhaps it was from simply seeing fur in the mirror every morning, but slowly Jordan forgot he was even a diapercritter. It was a detail that could easily slip his mind with his nigh-ritualistic daily glamour upkeep keeping the appearance of tape at bay. It didn't impact his life in some profound way, other than avoiding the shower (his body did not exactly require a wash). Within a month, it was just a minor detail and learned muscle memories lost in the shuffle.

So in a certain sense, as Jordan squeezed his swollen gut and reflected on the events that led him here, the current state of things was inevitable. "Oh it's been so long since I visited the pool! I should make a trip." Such an innocent thought. Now, there was more Jordan than pool. As it turned out, he was the kind of diapercritter that was best described as extra absorbent and highly resilient.
His glamour disintegrated the instant the magic met chlorine. Jordan yelped as he found himself dragged down, his legs growing thick and heavy in mere moments. It took great exertion to heave himself, his belly, and his round diaper out of the water as his body rapidly swelled and the water level shrank in kind. As the excess water dripped to the ground, his heavy girth was greeted with a downright sarcastic message written in the floor: No Running. Jordan replied with only a snort and a blush as he glanced to the side. A fur was staring at him...
"What're you looking at? If you want to help, get over here and get my tail out of the pool!"
The fur squeaked, frozen in indecision before rushing over and heaving Jordan's poor bloated tail onto the poolside. They scrambled away in a flustered panic before Jordan could rustle out a 'Thank you.'
Jordan sighed, sitting down on his full, bloated diaper. Squish! His posture barely dropped and the sensation was a surprise, making him blush hotter. He felt... fat. It was oddly enjoyable, being bogged down by so much water. Feeling the pleasant pull of gravity on his soft, sagging form. But also... he looked ridiculous, and the pool... Well, talk about making a scene!
"Ugh! I am NEVER visiting the pool again." He declared out loud. Like a liar.
Hopefully it wasn't permanent too. Probably wasn't. But some part of him was thrilled at the prospect... so he hastily shifted his thoughts to other things. Like how much he owed the park for the missing water...

I'm posting this one well ahead of my backlog schedule for a few reasons. For one: Waddly nuked their BlueSky- weh- and the only other place this existed publicly was on e621. For two: oh my good gracious, so many people have been talking about this lately and DMing me about it! Some to show appreciation, some to ask who drew it, some just to tease. I suspect it got traction in some big Discord server... yet the DMs so far have been pure coincidence when I ask. So who knows why, honestly! Three: I really love this one, and it deserves to be seen! So altogether, it felt auspicious to post this now.
Also, shoutouts to the little details that WaddlyDerg puts into their work to make things pop. Special effects, garnishes, and set dressing that cranks amazing art into peak art. In this art's case, it's the water! How it shines on Jordan's body, how it drips and darkens the ground below. The "no running" sign is another example. I didn't ask for it, but Waddly knew I wanted it~
Go on. Be a fat, waterlogged diapercritter. I want to see it. I want to know about it. I want this to become a thing~ We do not have enough fat diapercritters!!
