I sometimes had a hunch like Ensinick when I'm going out or leaving from my workplace, and most of time the hunch was correct though it was just some inconsequential things.
But in my experience, it's better to check it while the hunch appear no matter what. This hunch won't lie to you.

I'm pretty sure that Ensinick and Hamut had missed something very important, but what could it be?
