Unfortunately I haven't been able to try either of them.

still haven't tried poutine? Could always make it yourself a makeshift version....just need fries(closest to chip wager fries the better I personally think), add cheese(such as thin cheed curd, or some say shredded cheese would work, but would guess thickly shredded, and be a stretchy cheese like Mozzarella.) and then pour over that with hot brown gravy(Beef gravy I like, but heard that true poutine isn't reall beef gravy, just a brown gravy, and seen poutine gravy(or sauce) in cans in stores).

Anotehr thing I love to have once in a while, is chips and gravy. I heat up some beef gravy and pour it over a bowl of rippled regular chips(Never tried flavoured chips, just regular chips taste closer to potato without having a flavour distract you) I like that as well.

Well I have just tired it. I probably didn't get the gravy right. It was to thin. Over all, it's not to bad, but perhaps not really my favourite kind of food. I think I'll try it again, once I've found out how to get thicker gravy.

You really need the right gravy, and thicker is abit better. I'm not sure what kind of gravy it is, just that it's darker brown (meaning it's not chicken, turkey or pork gravy) I have seen poutine gravy in a can before, but think it's hard to come by...best bet is to look for recipe online for the right kind.

Well I found some instant gravy. I'll just need to get some sauce thickener. It should be easy to get.

Cool, good luck. I never tried making it at home. I know the chese is white, and heard cur is used, and wondered if white cheddar curd was ever used..I think the cheek is best at a certain thickness....enough to melt nicel, but thick enough to still hold some of it's shape.

Well I found a recipe of it in a german "Kanada Forum".
