The time of year has only just begun, but a feature of the Mid-Atlantic is the regular afternoon thunderstorms that roll down off the Appalachians during the summer. Muggy days break as cold fronts offer temporary relief in their wake before building back up again the next day, creating a rhythm the summer months move to. Eventually though the storms will end and give way to the dryness of Fall and Winter, so they should be enjoyed while they're here. Nothing lasts forever as we mark our passage through time.
So grab a book, brew yourself some tea, and listen to the thunder in the distance.
