Once she was alone, Persephone tossed her favorite ball of bubble gum into her mouth, then another, and then another, and then another, as many as she could fit until her cheeks were full. It was incredibly hard for her to chew, almost felt like she had stuffed her face full of silicon, but that wasn't gonna stop her. Even when she felt like she was going to gag, she continued to soften the gum, mashing her teeth into the sugar-coated substance until it finally softened up.
Then, with a mighty blow, she huffed into the wad of gum, barely making it budge. But with her second huff, it finally expanded to at least an inch. With each puff, inflating the gum got easier until it continued to thin out and blew to the size of a tennis ball. But she wasn't satisfied, and continued puffing into the gum, before long, it was the size of a soccer ball. It was nearly as big as her head, but she was also low on breath, breathing heavily through her nose as she took a short break.
As she looked into the gum, she realized just how shiny it was, showing her reflection in its glossy, solid pink surface, but just translucent enough to show the sunlight beaming through it. With that, she took a deep, powerful breath, pulling as much air into her lungs before letting out one last powerful puff.
The sound of rushing air deepened as the bubblegum swelled out to several times its size, the gum stretching and creaking like rubber until it was ridiculously huge. When she could no longer blow into it, she pinched her lips together and bit the bubble gum off, allowing it to float gently in front of her. Catching a breath, she looked at the bowl with a satisfied sigh as she watched it float away, seeing her reflection grow smaller and smaller within its surface until it floated into the clouds.
