Xen is a version of Chroma pulled from a temporary timeline where Chroma had gained full mastery of her mind and emotional states. Her knowledge of the cosmos and physics made her a terror to her timeline. Her world could only see her as a threat, despite her not actively doing anything.
Her insistence on staying neutral, and refusing to get involved despite her monumental power lead to her being branded an enemy by multiple countries.
"No one woman should have all that power!"
And they demanded that she either leave the world or bequeath her powers to others.
She lent her powers to a chosen few, but she knew what the result would be.
Within months, those she lent her power to left both Earth and Ketnar in ruins.
In their last moments, the last two she had gifted her strength to blamed her for giving them this power and cursed her. But she reminded them that this was what they wanted.
After they passed, Xen rebuilt Earth and Ketnar, now with no humankind remaining. And sat in waiting, knowing that she would be plucked from her timeline by Alumise the Twinner.
She knew her world was temporary as soon as she gained her powers. And that knowledge forced her to be content with inevitability.
And now in our timeline, history threatened to repeat.
But she sensed something new.
Someone in this, the one real permanent timeline, who would be capable of eliminating the poison from humankind's soul. Someone she felt was greater than herself.
And so, stays in Earth, waiting for the day to guide her.
