Applying a more MLP-like style to the Tessera basilisk design, you get something like this. And, yes, I'm an MLP fan, although it's mostly for the characterizations and especially the world-building. A place where mythical creatures are the population? Sounds like a good idea to me. And what else would basilisks be named after but minerals?
