That's really good! To me learning 3D modelling would undoubtedly be harder than studying algebra in Hebrew. I tried once and all I managed to create was a blob. A green blob.

Thanks. I am good at adapting things. I checked out a tutorial about making a chess piece. From that I learned a few things and said to myself, "I bet I could use this to make a cup, glass or tumbler." From there, I had a glass, cup and tumbler. I said to myself, "I bet I could make that look like glass." I went online and sorted through 18,000,000 tutorials and found a few really good ones. The lighting I pretty much winged it on.

Now, back to the salt mines.

Nice job man. Not only does it A) look real, but 2) I get a feeling for the thickness of the glass, and D) the distortion of the image through the glass is excellent.

very nice render. There is just one thing that bugs me, though, and that's that there's no shadow from the glass in the direction of the spotlight, only one against it (ambient?). nevertheless, very impressive.

noticed it myself. I sat for about an hour and a half today, just trying to fix that. Eventually I determined that I was receiving a message from the gods of digital media.

That message was, "There isn't really a glass and you are too stupid to make a fake shadow."
