After the Raid on the Mountain Village, Princess Cerashara, now going by the alias "Shara" fled as far away as she could go clutching her one remaining egg tightly. She had wanted to wait for any sign that her husband Caelius was alive but between the attack from raiders, the search parties of imperial soldiers, and the hunters from the north, Shara felt as though her world had shrunk and closed around her with spears pointed at her from all directions. Nowhere on Laramidia was safe for her to raise her child so she flew straight on across the east sea powering through storms and heavy winds driven by her protective instincts till she discovered there was a whole other continent which had been right there across the sea all along but hidden from view by some great illusion. This land was called Appalachia; A land more rich in moisture and life than the mountainous dry land of Laramidia, sporting vast forests, rainforests, and swamps, but also multiple species of Dragons who for the most part tolerate each other's existences independent from their own and even interact with each other frequently and friendlily, not to say there is no conflict at all, but different sorts of conflict. In Appalachia Tannin are the minority and do not have a major kingdom in Appalachia living with other dragons or in small villages of their own. The most populous dragons here are the Xerathani, the rainforest is home to the Serpent-like Coatani, There are Valkirtani who have settled here as refugees from the fall of the Ancient Valkirtani Empire, and there are Tonatani and Tlakuatani who used to be major powers of Appalachia but have reduced in size following a major conflict.

Byrami grew up in an Appalachian Tannin village, he knows that his mother came from across the sea but Appalachia is his home. Because his Mother had to rush with his egg away from Laramidia, his egg was never exposed to the Moon so he was not born with an elemental power but not powerless. It turned out to have been a blessing for Byrami because The Tannin of Appalachia do not have the Laramidian Tannin's practice of exposing Eggs to the moon and gaining elemental powers. Instead they have kept up the much older Tannin Magic allowing them to direct energy through their bodies to empower themselves physically, heighten their senses, or release non-elemental energy, and they practice mastering their bodies, their minds, and their spirits.

Byrami is a social butterfly, he's smart, kind, charming, he likes being involved and will often step up to take charge, lead, bring dragons together and to get other dragons involved. His mother jokingly says he acts like a prince. His mother being a runaway princess is not a secret to him, his mother has told him stories of her past and her homeland, how she grew up as the princes of the Southern Empire, how she met his father and fell in love, and then had to leave it all behind to find safety. Shara and Byrami keep this history private cause nobody here needs to know, it's not relevant and he does not want to be seen that way. If he wanted be a prince he could find a way to return to the Southern Empire, but he is not interested in claiming power or being catered to by servants. He is happy where he is and believes he does more good just by being a good member in his community.
