She's the AI who Niall and most truckers get implanted into their head, who holoprojects herself all around the ship. Getting up to toonish antics, though more likely just drinking virtual coffee, nagging about time tables and generally being bitchy.

An old sci fi book series about gigantic AI enhanced bulldozers on the moon involved the concept of said AI having an icon 'set' by the lone human driver. Unsurprisingly, the bored title lead of the story set his AI to 'hot redhead', but she developed a personality involving being slightly irish, having a temper, and filthy language issues all on her own. This was before the idea of holograms became commonly accepted, so the AI ended up getting a "livedoll" physical body extension at the end of one novella, buuuut there are just enough similarities between your work and that to amuse.

sounds like a pretty interesting idea, I think that'd pretty much cover these pretty well. Sort of a more organic, understandable interface for the driver and the ship AI.. Firey irish sweary gal sounds fun.. though I think Muddy here would probably more like a snarkier, older babs bunny..totally the voice too. I need to make an animated movie. Bruce Willis can voice Niall.
can you remember the series of books? I've read about zero scifi so that might be something to look into..
