I broke my glasses on 9-11-01. Walked face first into the side of an opened bathroom door and snapped my frames in half. Had to leave school to get them repaired, and the first plane struck during that time. The first sight I saw with my repaired glasses was the second plane flying into the other tower on the office television. Then I had to go back to school.
Ironically enough, we were schedualed to have a PEP rally. Afterwards, I snooped around under the bleachers looking for change that had been dropped. (Yeah, I know...but come on, I was friggen poor and that years I made $487 in loose change). Never found any, but I did find these three things:
A broken ROTC badge medal thing
An Angel Pin
A New York Subway Token with a PENTAGON in the middle. I assembled them all that same day and have worn them every 9-11 since.

I am 2NDLT HUMFELD of the USAF AUX, I was in school when the teacher came in the room and said " SHUT UP SIT DOWN AND LOOK AT THE TV!" I looked and watched in horror as my homeland was attacked by a faceless coward and at that moment in time I burst into tears both of sorrow and of hatred for the muslim ppl, since that day I vowed I would join some kind of military group when I was of age and now I'm a 6 year USAF AUX member
Thanks bud, I'm lucky that I am not able to be deployed overseas the group I'm in is search and rescue in the U.S. Only but we can still get killed either by our plane crashing or any accident on the ground during a mission, I've been lucky and never had anything go wrong in the missions I've gone on
