Mephit Furmeet 2011 was a little over a week ago, and one of my favorite fursuits at the con was of the red-tailed hawk, Victor Redtail. My camera and I were drawn toward him whenever I saw him walking by, to the point that I hope he didn't consider me some grey-haired stalker. *laughs*
So, as thanks for him being so patient and tolerant, as well as having just a really kick-ass fursuit, I had this surprise gift commission done in his honor.
I love how this turned out. The characters look so awesome, and the action just plays out so perfectly. Rodent will do anything to get a good picture at a fur con, and it seems as if Redtail is all too happy to give the rat a nice close-up. Though why do I have the feeling that Redtail will next be seen relaxing back, picking some fur from his beak while admiring the pictures of himself, with Rodent nowhere to be seen? :D
Valy did such a gorgeous job with the colors and details, beautifully capturing the look and feel of encounters between furs and photographers at a convention.
My thanks to Valy for taking this commission and doing such a fantastic job with it.
I hope you like how it turned out Redtail. Thanks for helping make the con that much more fun this year.

Awww. This is a lovely picture, Rodent! I love the perspective of Rodent looking up at Victor Redtail! Victor Redtail looks so haunting and so ferocious! Meanwhile, Rodent looks all giddy to be able to photograph a terrifying bird of prey! Squaaaawk! (Your instincts should be kicking in by now, dear Rodent! "Run, Rodent, Run!")
Heheh. I enjoyed reading your imagination of what the next scene could look like. I could picture Victor Redtail admiring himself with his newly-acquired digital camera. Heheheh!
In terms of where Rodent might be . . . ? Maybe he scampered off to use the washroom? Or maybe he found an artist at his/her table who was still open for commissions? You could start a book called "Where in the world is Rodent?"
Lovely artwork, of course!
