Yeah, that ain't going to fly with a lot of artists. Heck, that's why a lot of artists I know and watch put in bold (and sometimes colored) in their profiles that they do not take requests, and near as I can tell stick to their guns. Heck, I've heard of more than a few scenarios where people got put on an artist's block list for making requests for art a few too many times.
took me a bit to get it, but oh so true. ^^;
i admit i watch way to many people to comment on everything and still have a life, so i do try to comment on work that really impresses me or comes from a person i have a secondary affiliation with. ^////////^
i wish i had the time to comment on everything i liked, but it's hard enough keeping up with 500 submissions in my watch list a day from fa alone. that's not counting y!gallery or da.
so yea, they rarely comment, but i don't think all of them are doing it out of blatant disrespect or inconsideration. ^///////////^

yea, i do understand you there. ^^; you gotta give something back and all that. i been trying to focus on trades myself for that reason. i did break down and buy a commission from someone i've wanted to for years because a friend talked me into it, but not really the money to spend. ^///////////^
sadly, some people are always going to try and do things the easy way, whats best for them and there thought stops there. i don't approve of the mind set, but i do think they have the right to as annoying as anyone else with free speech not breaking any rules. ^^; i wish often that not every freedom came with a price of tolerances for others who have the same, but it's the world we live in. ^^;
