After watching countless documentaries for the past week on National Geographic, I suddenly had an image in my mind I needed to work out.
What shocked me most of all the footage I´ve seen were two things, the people who decided to take their own life rather than die in the fire and the wall of dust that rushed through the streets after the first tower collapsed in on itself.
So here is my way of paying respect to all those who have lost their lives and to those who had to loose someone. They were (and are) all brave and strong till the very end. They might not have chosen when they died, but at least they chose how.
(And please, show some respect yourself and leave your heckling at the door when you comment on this piece. It might not be your idea of showing respect, but believe me that I made this with respect and love in my heart.)

You know be it if they thought they take their own life
or they could survive
the important is that glimmer in their eyes
what went on in their heads
was it hope or was it dread
sadly we will never know what they said
but I know what I can say
that I hope in the next life they shall find peace and be okay
or they could survive
the important is that glimmer in their eyes
what went on in their heads
was it hope or was it dread
sadly we will never know what they said
but I know what I can say
that I hope in the next life they shall find peace and be okay
I agree with you on this, nice little poem as well.
I was trying to capture that last moment of hope and happiness before disappearing in a black cloud.
Even though I never lost someone that day or I wasn´t there, I still feel for the survivors and the people that were left behind.
