dont be mad but i updated his ref AGAIN
i promise im done. i swear it to be true. when i did his last ref i was still frustrated with it but felt like it was okay enough. well this week due to a scheduling mishap at work i got 3 days off in a row and so i got to make this. if i have any more changes i wanna do i'll just edit this for reals because I want this to be what I send to people for commissions and stuff. thats why its so nice and clean and minimalist, anything more specific than this is gonna be covered anyways when i'm discussing what i'd like drawn.
Brian's evolved a lot in these past almost-2 years! (so have i!) he started off with a pretty vague stylized design that could be played with pretty liberally but he's really refined into having a consistent look so he needed a ref to reflect that. he's definitely an interesting fella, very delicate balance of looking how i wanna look while still retaining a majority of my own features so he stays relatable. as much as i wanna be like "i wanna be buff and big and shit so my fursona is a 7 foot muscledaddy with a 12 inch cock!" i just cant connect to that because im not that.
_____________
GENERAL NOTES:
- Don't sweat the stripes on his limbs, they can be freestyled. On his back, the only consistent detail is his 'sword' in the middle there. His face is always the same though.
- Said stripes are very large because he is a "classic tabby" which have big thick swirly markings rather than the usual thin tabby stripes.
- He doesn't have the head shape of a typical cat, he has a large angular muzzle and huge ears. You can reference the oriental short or longhair and the modern wedgehead siamese.
- His muzzle can be fully tan or he can have a beard and/or mustache. It depends on what's most fun to draw in that moment.
- Those are cowboy boots. Outside of the boots, his soles are dark just like his palms.
