I think that day was more foggy than anything, since fog banks are essentially clouds enveloping the ground. But now I'm getting too technical. ^^;
Very simple and thoughtful poem. I am not too sure on the symbolism or theme, but what I gathered was the idea that dreams and aspirations seem like clouds far up in the sky. A wish to reach that dream, but really the dream is not too far off. It will come the day you least expect, but not on any day where you don't keep wishing. (I think ^^;)
Nice job on the poem!

I was thinking of fog, aye.
And you could say the poem is kind of an open metaphor so the reader can think about their own symbolic meaning, but I was thinking, I suppose, about the difference between "good weather" and "bad weather" and it was on one of the latter that seemed so magical that I wrote this. And, I guess, ever since I first learned as a kid that being in fog was the same as being in a cloud, I've always thought that was pretty neat.
Thanks for responding with your thoughts on my poem.

I like how you put that. You could think of bad weather as a blessing in disguise really. Much like how unfortunate things that happen in life serve to make us appreciate what we love even more and can serve to make us stronger- if we choose to.
Keep on writing those poems now. ^_- Poets have the hardest job of all trying to condense complex thought into those few lines.
