Note: This is an old work from April 2007. It is being uploaded here today with September 11th in mind, in honor of the tenth anniversary. The words that follow are almost the exact same text from the original upload, from years ago:
This is the edited text describing this picture taken directly from the NSider Forums, where I had my own gallery:
"Although I haven't had a truly good update since last April and the fact I wanted to wait until later this fall to showcase the rest of my art, today is something special that I felt the need to update with. I did this later last year in senior art class. We needed to showcase a gathering of people, so I decided to do it my way with a 9-11 tribute to those who lost their lives on that fateful day six years ago today. I know I'm not that great of an artist, but I was hoping to express my own feelings of a national tragedy that unified our nation closer together. Basically what is portrayed here is a group of people who have come to reflect and commemorate an anniversary of the attacks. In the distance you can see the blue beams of light that rise every year from Ground Zero, as well as the New York skyline at night, known as the Tribute in Light. Some people are consoling one another, others are quietly thinking to themselves with candles and flags in their hands. This is officially dedicated to those and more.
I believe that although we suffered, we have also gained something new. A true understanding of what life is all about and an even deeper reconciling with ourselves. The heroes who selflessly risked everything that day, those families and friends of the victims, including the victims themselves, shall never forget ever. This is a day that has been permanently engraved into the heart of our nation's history and our minds, and I just want to make it known that I am proud to an American. I know this is a rather sensitive subject, especially for most Americans, so I won't go into much more detail other than I wish all of us well and bless this great nation forever.
Let us never forget...9/11."
