Parents Decide Act

A bill has recently been introduced that will require all operating system providers to force users to provide their date of birth in order to use the operating system; this will inevitably lead to users being forced to hand over their government ID in order to use any technology. Data scrapers can get their hands on this personal information and sell it to AI companies and advertisers, and hackers can get ahold of this information to sell on the dark web or commit identity theft.
Furthermore, it is a blatant violation of the 1st Amendment by gatekeeping the ability to share or view information online and it could also be a violation of the 4th Amendment by allowing the government to bypass certain privacy protections to get access to your personal data without a search warrant.
I know what some of you might be thinking, "Buh, this is meant to protect children from seeing harmful content, buh!" No it isn't, if the government wanted to protect the children, the people who went to Epstein Island would be in prison right now. At the very least more PSAs about parents checking to make sure what their children are viewing online and reminding them of parental controls would be shown, but we aren't seeing that. And why the hell should the rest of society be forced to dox themselves because there are some people who can't parent?
Spread the word and contact your senators and representatives TODAY and tell them "NO!" to H.R. 8250.
