When I must leave you
When I must Leave you for a while
Please do not grieve and shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years
But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name
live on and do all things the same;
Feed not your loneliness of empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you
And hold you near,
And never, never be afraid to die.
For I am waiting for you in the sky!
I felt like drawing this today, especially since myself and
went to the funeral of one of our best friends, Danny Rajnic, Jr.
He died on Tuesday from a seizure and was found dead the next morning by his family. He was only 21 years old when he passed on, being younger than me by one year. We both went to high school with him and he graduated the same year that Firegirl did, so in honor of our good friend, I felt like drawing this. I based this off the picture on the card we got at the funeral and so many family and friends were there, friends we hadn't seen since High School. Sure, he had alot of health problems, but he lived life to the fullest and did crazy things along the way. Crazy bastard. Its hard to lose a good friend, but he'll never be forgotten...
The words above were in the pages of the card and another was in there, an old irish blessing that I feel like putting up. I may have not known him for as long others have but, I'll still miss him and keep his family in my prayers
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And the rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you
in the palm of His hand.
