A while ago I decided to take photos of my spare warrior models that I never got around to updating. So I'll number them off and talk about what I wanted to do with them and why I changed them from the previous incarnations.
#1, The first of this series, originally the army was named "Necrons Omega" and I wanted a very rough weathered look to them.
#2&3 Ok, this was an error on my part, they're the same model and I didn't realize it until after
lynxkitty102 made the collage for me. ^^" Anyway, it was this incarnation of them that led to their trim being added, this was in part because I decided my army needed something to set them apart from the others, and partly because I eventually realized my original idea looked awful.
#4 Around now is when the army name was changed to "Binary Avengers". I decided that the worn look clashed with the trim, so I repainted them in flat silver and redid the trim. Something still wasn't quite right though.
#5 Finally! I found out, mostly through an accidental dip into my black paint with my brush while i was loading up the silver, I found that a roughly 1 to 1 mix of black and silver made for an excellent darker silver that still had a bit of sheen to it. Which made for an excellent base colour to put my yellow trim on. The blades of the bayonets are still the flat silver because not only does it work as an homage to the steps they went through to get to this version, but also it makes for a good blade look with the blackened silver.
