Nest Pendants - May Become Adoptables!
I just made these little nest pendants a while ago. The nest is made from 24 guage wire, and the eggs themselves are freshwater pearls. I've wrapped them so the eggs are attached to the nests and they can be worn as pendants, or you can hang them up somewhere. :)
I'm debating on using these as an intro to getting into adoptables. But with a twist, cuz I cant stand the masses of cookie cutter adoptables that are going around. I want to do something different with mine.
What I'm thinking is this: I will make some kind of pendant or jewelry (most likely it'll be a necklace), and post it here on FA. The item will be for sale, but as an auction. Now, here's the twist ...
If you win the auction, not only do you get the piece, but you'd also be put on my queue for a full color piece of artwork (most likely an 8x10 but it'd depend on the number of characters) - you wouldn't know what the artwork would be, but thats the fun of it (sorta like easter egg adoptables). You would most definately get something really really cool though.
THEN...you'd ALSO get the character or creature that's shown in the artwork, for your own collection. :) So altogether, you'd get a necklace, a piece of artwork, and a new character to have fun with. :)
This little set here already has given me some ideas, and if the response to this submission is good and you guys like my idea, I might go ahead and proceed to auction off these things individually. (The nest with 3 eggs would have 3 characters or creatures attached to it.)
Would love your opinions on this idea...I've really been on the fence about doing adoptables at all, but I think it might be fun, if I can find a way to do it where I feel like you guys are getting your money's worth. And I'd have fun in the process cuz I'd get a few free-range commissions. :)

Hee, I really love that idea! It sounds amazing! I have seen a few artists who did these kind of "growable" adoptables, where you could buy an egg or something, and the only thing you would be fairly sure of was the colors and possibly patterning of the critter that would come out due to the colors/patterns on the egg, but for the rest you'd have no idea what kind of critter it would be. Makes it extra fun!
It's certainly an amazing deal with all the 'items' one would be getting for one of these adoptables, too. The only hitch I could possibly see is that people might complain this way of doing adoptables might limit the accessability to female customers only, since men probably won't have very much use for the jewelry, hee.

lol I actually saw a pendant like these in the bead store when I was in there shopping yesterday and loved it, but the necklace it was attached to was $30 and I couldn't get it. So I had to try and make it myself...had no clue what I was doing either. They didn't come out too bad though, I kinda like the indigo one myself. ^_^ Btw, if I haven't told you before, I love your jewelry - I really want to get a couple things someday. <3
I was doing that because I had a whole mass of people asking for trades at once, and of course that racks up a lot of money for me because I still have to pay out the shipping with the nature of my art. ^^; I have a convention coming up, so I keep it listed that way to keep myself sane. But if you're interested, totally give me a shout. ;)
