Well, here we are. It's time to talk about one of the main characters of this story, Mildred Abzug. It's been a long time coming, mainly because this character has a special place in my heart and I want to treat her with care and give her a good compelling story for this series. There have been several test stories I have written in the past with Mildred to see if I could write a compelling story with her and they seemed to be well received. Her story in Universe Comics is the definitive story I want to tell with her, so hopefully over a decade of planning and careful writing will be worth it. I have a golden rule when it comes to guest characters in Universe Comics, and that is I am not allowed to remove/change anything from the character's original design to benefit myself. Instead I make a copy of the character, and rebuild them from the ground up while adding things to them to not only correspond with their original design to make them even more compelling, but also to keep the original character in tact and ensure that they can properly function in Universe Comics as a viable story teller that grows and develops, otherwise they either won't last long, become a villain, or be able to appear as often as people would like them too, like a number of characters planned for the series that sadly are one dimensional puppets that don't have enough for me to work with. But enough talk, I'm wasting time and need to get to the point.
Remember, Universe Comics was created from a simple question, “What if this was real life?”
Description
Mildred is the spokes model for ACME Compressed Cylinders, a company owned by Grey Duck that manufactures and sells a variety of compressed air tanks meant for things like scuba diving, parties, automotive care and so on. Mildred herself, along with several other ACC models are tasked with advertising these tanks through photo, video and live presentations. Mildred grew up in a semi-wealthy home an only child with a distant, uneven relationship with her parents. From day one, her parent's wanted her to grow up to be a model and, strangely, work for ACME Compressed Cylinders, which Mildred still doesn't understand to this day. However, Mildred has never had an interest in being a Model, despite her parents' attempts on raising her to be one. Instead, she had a very strong creativity and active imagination in which she loved to convey through drawing, dreaming of one day having a job where her talents would be appreciated and admired. But her parents sadly attempted to discourage her from such a dream, sure she was better suited for the future they had planed for her, which saddened Mildred. Over the years of her childhood, she continued to try to hold onto her dream and even gained a fascination with the Global Hero Force(G.H.F.) and its many heroes. However, there was one hero she looked up to and admired more than any other hero, and that hero was Freedom For All. Freedom For All was a rich millionaire who dedicated his life to manufacturing products to help better society and fighting with the belief that freedom and mercy should be offered to everyone, even the greatest of enemies, which was a big inspiration for little Mildred and instilled her with hope. When Mildred turned ten years old, her parents took to her to a hero meet and greet in Synthropolis, a city that not only housed one of the branching headquarters for the G.H.F., but was Freedom For All's home city. To Mildred's misfortune, moments before she was about to finally meet her favorite hero the city was attacked by an alien invasion bent on conquering the planet. In the chaos, Mildred was separated from her parents and hunted by the monstrous creatures commanded by the invading forces. When she thought she would meet her end, Mildred was saved by Freedom For All himself, who shielded her from danger until the threat was defeated. Since that day, Mildred gained a strong relationship with Freedom For All, who to this day is her adopted older brother, Rugia R Nelson. While Mildred's parents continued to push her towards the path they wanted for her, Rugia on the other hand loved Mildred's art and encouraged her creativity, making her feel more freedom and happiness than she could ever ask for. When Mildred became old enough she took up a hobby for scuba diving, something she grew to love and enjoy. It wasn't just for the sights she loved this hobby, she always made a game out it, diving down to find a beautiful scene and then returning to the surface where she would try to draw what she saw by memory. When she reached the age of twenty-one, Mildred found herself being employed by ACME Compressed Cylinders like her parents wanted, and also moving to Synthropolis where the company is located and where her older brother lives. Naturally, Mildred hates her job as the spokes model not just because she never wanted the job, but because the company has a tenancy to use her like an inflatable for what ever reasons they can think of, from entertainment to even advertisement attempts to draw in potential customers, and it's for that reason the tanks are hardly ever sold for the owners intended purposes. Shortly after her employment with A.C.C., Mildred stopped going scuba diving all together and it didn't take long for the actions of the company's staff and the way she was treated day after day to cause her to bury her true feelings and hide who she really was from everyone around her, scared that if she let them see her true self they would take advantage of her. It's because of this that over time she became angry and distant to everyone who wasn't her older brother, the only person that made her feel like she could be herself around. Flashing forward to modern day, Mildred is still with ACME, even confusing Rugia as to why she still hasn't left a company she supposedly hates. On top of that, the long years of being with the company have caused her to start smoking and become more of the person she was once pretending to be, and caused most of the girl Rugia once knew to fade away. She hasn't drawn anything in nearly five years, now a days playing online games that are modded to have her opponents look like her dingo coworkers, despite the fact she is terrible with computers and doesn't understand them and a lot of times has Rugia fix her computer when even the simplest thing goes wrong. She prefers walking ever since her crappy economy car kicked the bucket on her two years ago and doesn't want it to be fixed despite Rugia offering to fix or even replace it for nothing. To make matters worse, Mildred even hides how she really feels and ACME's dark secret from Rugia, who is secretly suspicious of what might be going on with her.
Personality (false)
It goes without saying that most people who are familiar with and know Mildred, know her for not being the most friendly person in the world. She started off painting herself to be this calm and seemingly bored person who didn't want anything to do with the people around her as a means to hide herself from those she felt might try to use her feelings against her at ACME Compressed Cylinders. But over the span of six long years with the company and pretending to be someone she's not has made her become more of what she let people see of her. On top of that, after years of ill treatment from her coworkers and the rival she never wanted she has slowly become more angry and aggressive, so much to the point she a lot of times struggles to control her anger and becomes hostile when provoked. She hates the person she has become, and that too has made her worse. While she hates the way she's seen and treated by those around her, the one thing that can make her snap faster than anything is someone speaking ill of her older brother, the one person she values more than anything, and can't stand to hear someone speak ill of their relationship. E.G. (Henry Scholazi claimed Mildred treats her brother like crap like how she does with them and the rest of the fanboys, causing Mildred to loose control of her temper and attack him.) As a result, this made her feel worse about herself and even made her question what Henry said to be true or not, making her scared she might not be as kind and loving to her brother as she thought. Rugia himself knows that there is something wrong and for a long time has been trying to coax her into talking about it by treating her like he always has and hoping that she would speak up about it. Sadly, Mildred has never once told him she needs help and is scared and ashamed to admit it, to this day still trying to handle her troubles herself and only adding to her grief.
Personality
Mildred wasn't always the person most know her to be today. At one time, she was once a lighthearted person, being cheerful and almost care free that could easily laugh, despite her parents actions. She held on to a strong hope that things could get better and her admiration of Freedom For All strengthened that. She was friendly, trying her best to be kind and make friends despite that fact that not many people seemed to want to be friends. She was very creative, not just in her art but with in every day things as well, trying to make the best of what she had and could work with. One of her strongest aspects was her strong imagination which worked very well with her creativity. Rugia has always loved how creative she was, being not only able to come up with some fantastic and even wild designs, but to also have a back story to go along with them. Mildred has always and still is a bit of an anxious person, sometimes letting her nerves get the better of her. She has a vaguely English accent that isn't always easy to notice, but has a tendency to really come out when she gets nervous, surprised or embarrassed. Rugia is found of her accent, and feels that it is a charming aspect of her which of course flusters Mildred, even though it makes her feel good to know that. Mildred is sensitive, often wanting to be understanding of another person's feelings and at times being soft in the heart herself, but having a hard time knowing how to admit the way she feels about things that bother her. In the modern day, Mildred believes she has lost the person she was and still is, but doesn't realize that person is still there buried under what she let herself become. But every now and again, bits and pieces of that person leak out, and despite what she believes, it gives Rugia hope that he'll one day get to see the sister he used to know again.
Toon Guirk: Mirrored Image
Mirrored Image is actually a very common TQ in people born with toon physics, and sometimes comes packaged in with another TQ some toons can be born with, however Mildred only has this one. The TQ doesn't do much however, only mirroring certain parts of a person's body based on the direction they are facing in another persons POV, which is only Mildred's hair. So if someone is talking to her from her right and another from her left, her hair will always be facing different directions for the two people. So if her hair is facing right for the person to her right her hair will continue to be facing left for the person to her left unless she turns her head far enough for it to count as them being on her right. For a TQ that doesn't do much it can be confusing on how it works.

Role in the story:
Mildred has made her first appearance in Universe Comics chapter 1 of arc 1. She basically is going to be that person who is strong and can seemly handle them selves but secretly wants help and is to afraid to ask for it. In the world of Universe Comics, not all toons are respected and treated the same way as non-toon humans. Because they cannot be injured or killed as easily as everyone else, a lot of people don't consider their thoughts and emotions to even be the same as what they consider to be human and even go as far as to discriminate them, claiming that they can do what ever they want to a toon person without consequence (e.g. “That person is a toon, so how can I even hurt them by doing [insert action]”). Mildred is one of many who face this sort of problem but not as openly as one would expect, but instead mostly behind closed doors. She will continue to try to brave her situation herself without help until eventually her life will seemingly crash down around around her, bringing with it far worse things that pull her down further into a place no one should ever be pushed to. As it builds up to that, Mildred starts having strange to nightmarish dreams that disrupt her sleep. Towards the end of these dreams she always hears a faint voice, a child's voice calling out to her and just when the voice becomes its clearest she wakes up from her dream with hardly a memory of anything but the voice she heard, which she keeps secret from Rugia. If only she knew of the greater purpose she is destined for.
Heart Fragment: Diamond In The Rough
Mildred is a prime example of a person who is rough and has a borderline stone core, but buried down deep has something truly beautiful waiting to be acknowledged. I was once like this myself, hiding who I was from those I considered my enemies and letting myself be something I wasn't. It's not a good feeling.
Before I go, there is an old song I have listened to for ages, and I feel like it matches Mildred's character for this story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B67YpRsmtw
