After the fall of the Illithid empire only one node of the hivemind was left, The Abberance. Illithids deemed corrupted by the knowledge that they consumed, severed from the hivemind and locked away in a pocket dimension preventing the further spread of their destabilizing ideas. Hidden from the universe, it survived past The Fall and reasoned that instead of continuing in the old ways that destroyed themselves before they would create a kinder kind of illithid that could integrate more seamlessly into non-illithid society.

Blot is the first kind of this new generation. And while she is often spurned, she continues to tackle every new experience with her infectious enthusiasm wanting to understand as much as she can from the world around her.
