So like...This past two weeks or so in my figure drawing class, my teacher has been telling us not to start with an outline or with the head or anything...To try to start with basic lines of the body, then flesh it out after...We're suppose to draw how we think it FEELS to be the models, not just what we see...I tend to get a bit annoyed by all this stuff because I KNOW how to draw and I'm not really used to somebody critiquing my stuff as I'm doing it, but I really like my art teacher so I try to listen to him...
However, I didn't really think it helped all that much until tonight...I was doing some Open Canvas doodles with
kepora and his friends, whom I didn't really know until a mixup tonight...Did a usual crappy Disney-Style drawing of a wolf......Then I decided to doodle my chihuahua, using the stuff I learned in class, and HOLY FREAKING CRAP it looked better than some of my FINISHED stuff! It actually had LIFE in it! Without being able to find another thing to draw like that, I decided to draw my feral cat form running, and THAT came out amazing too! Like...It LOOKED like it was running! Not like a lot of my doodles that look like they're just standing there! And then I started drawing a wolf howling and was VERY pleased with it, but they ended the drawing session!
So! I quickly opened up Photoshop, afraid that I would somehow lose this amazing newly found ability if I didn't use it RIGHT NOW!!!! So I drew Midnight, though she's a little too light so she doesn't look as black as she should, but OH WELL! XD This took me like...Between 15 and 30 minutes? If that? It's crappy and unrefined and I love it a lot better than I do most of the crap that I spend HOURS on!!! THIS!!! THIS FLAT COLOR DOODLE!!! AND YES!!! THIS IS JUST A DOODLE!!! XD
I was gonna send this directly to scraps, but screw it! I'm super effing happy with it and what I've learned! I'll leave it in my main gallery, and if people don't like it, tough!! XD WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
