Twin-barrelled assault rifle intended for large-scale humanoid soldiers that loads two clips simultaneously, one for each barrel. The Dawn is basically two separate guns loaded into a single frame.
The gun's parts are modular and ambidextrous. Dual-barrel design allows for two different types of ammunition to be loaded, such as a lethal/non-lethal loadout, or a 20mm anti-armor/.223 anti-personnel loadout.
Each unit (barrel, receiver, and clip adapter) is originally chambered for 20mm vulcan rounds with a 15-round magazines. Each unit can be reconfigured for .50 BMG (30-rnds dbl-stack), .30/06 (70-rnd tri-stack), and .223 (250-rnd helix) rifle rounds.
The Dawn also can load smooth-bore shotgun receiver units in: 4ga (12-rnd drum), 8ga (21-rnd drum), 10ga (36-rnd helical drum), 12ga (78-rnd helix).
The Dawn is equipped with a multi-purpose high-resolution, high-definition sighting unit with laser rangefinder beneath the barrels. The sighting unit contains a microcomputer that combines all relevant ballistic data including ammunition caliber and type, range to target, elevation, and bearing, with optional adjustments for moving targets and windage.
The sighting unit compenates the sight for all combined factors to make an accurate shot right in the crosshairs. The sighting unit also connects directly to a monitor worn on the soldier's helmet, goggles, or eyepiece, whichever is relevant.
-Munition data is gathered from each unit. The unit itself dictates caliber, and each clip has its own data transponder to represent the ammunition it contains.
-Elevation, bearing, temperature, and humidity are gathered from internal sensors.
