I actually didn't know there were creatures named that in King Kong! In this context it's just like a mix of aeronautics/aeroplane/etc and just a general "saur" like more of a beast. I always felt like planes already looked very bird/dragon like, so just exaggerating those features came a bit easier than say.. trying to make a dragon tank LOL. Aerosaur and Aeromorph are a liiittle interchangeable (although I guess the "morph" definitely implies a more human body), and idk if other people call them aerosaurs as well- but at least that's what I call 'em.

No, I see where you are coming from, yap sesh always welcome for me specifically. I pour over text daily so, no harm done. Since you seem new to this neck of the woods we *generally* call them aeromorphs regardless of if they seem more beastial than humanoid, for more "feral" machines and vehicles, I believe user ratbat/tabtar/batrat/whatever long ago coined "dire machines" akin to a dire wolf or dire lion! Aerosaur seems like a cool sub phrase though to describe what we are all thinking about plane morphs. All planes are just based on birds, which are just avian dinos even if they have a different category in paleontologist lingo. Greek "morphē" just refers to "shape" "form" "appearance" so it doesnt quite have to do with "human form" necessarily. That would be the " anthro" in "anthropomorphic" specifically (which uh. Is what we called it before fursuiters hijacked us all being called furries. Anthro is old school)
