Last year, around October/November, I'd started a stylistic practice to try and get a bit closer to an art I really, really liked... Then it started to look good, and I got hopeful that I could actually upkeep that level of quality, maybe even offer commissions of the same degree of attention. For weeks, I spent time on it here and there, kept finding this new issue and that, and got... Deeply frustrated.

I HATED it. I hated that I'd spent so much time on something that didn't feel like it was going anywhere, hated that I'd kept putting aside all the other owed art to work on this sink. But thanks to, admittedly, random fixation and the urge to just finish it -

I got it done.
