Beware of the Flowers, 'Cos I'm Sure They're Gonna Get You, Yeah
Fun fact: underneath Professor Fa'Rana's headwings in panel 2, Merlin scrawled the words "lol flowers"
The effect The Professor is describing is something my father has often mentioned, but the only other reference I've come across to that happening is in the song "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull where "the flowers bloom like madness in the spring" after the protagonist dies.
