During the war in the Lylat Akira was doing her best in the few Arwings that Corneria had. Fox Mccloud and co had not arrived yet and she had been doing her best to keep the peace and try and protect Corneria though hundreds of other Corneria last gen fighters were falling by the dozens because of the overwhelming numbers. She was no ace, but she was at least able to reasonably fight and shoot down plenty of enemies. Just not take down the leaders of the invasion.

That wasn't till the blue Gdiffuser Arwings appeared and she did join them as much as she could taking down more fighters along side them, though her warnings were alarming in her ear that her ship was pretty much cooked. She had to go to the docking bay, whatever docking bay was left to get repairs. And she could only watch as Great fox pulled away at the end of the day.
