Hatzegopteryx, one of the largest pterosaurs in the family Azhdarchidae. All pterosaurs in this family looked like a chimeric cross between a giraffe and a stork. Despite the enormous size of the head compared to the rest of the body, the skull weighed almost nothing. All azhdarchids had limbs long enough not only to walk but also to run a little, chasing small dinosaurs or other small prey. Hatzegopteryx specifically lived in what is now Hungary, where there were small islands where dinosaurs shrank significantly due to severely limited food resources. Hatzegopteryx remains are too fragmentary, so reconstructions and size estimates are based on related species. Hatzegopteryx is estimated to have stood 4-6 meters tall, with a wingspan of 10-12 meters
