Given the inherent risks and stresses involved in operating a combat mech, it’s not uncommon for handlers to reward their pilots as a means of boosting morale. Glad you like that little detail! In theory, the name tags are meant to help handlers and other company personnel tell the masked, identically-dressed HND pilots apart, but given that 0079’s grown several hundred pounds heavier than anyone else in the HND program… the tag’s become rather superfluous 😅
