koopacooper, here's his kittygirl Leana about to have yet another unanticipated encounter with a large expanse of soft, wet and dirty. And from the looks of what is sticking out of it, it's going to be a very soft landing, followed by at least a half hour of struggling to free herself from the sucking bog.
All courtesy of that well-worn Hollywood cliche', the rickety rope bridge whose deck caves in at just the wrong moment (as if there ever was a right time to cave in), sending some unlucky hiker plummeting into the depths.
I had actually started this one, unofficially just before Furry Weekend Atlanta '11. But that image was sorely lacking in the action department, and during a lull in Artist Alley activity (FWA's AA stayed open 24 hours at the time) I started sketching out the version you see here. Leana now actually looks like she's falling through the bridge, which also has started to whip around in response to Leana's weight suddenly disappearing from the deck.
Original filesize 90MB. Brush-inked pencils on bristol, colored in Micrografx Picture Publisher 10.

To the above commenters - She's not exactly going to FALL off, she's just gonna slide down the middle; it should really only take a few more seconds before she's gone. :)
This turned out awesomely Railride, and it was more than worth the wait! ^___^
Damn her slippery sandals, and that epically unstable rope-bridge (a cliché if ever there was one, but being put to its best user ever, right here). :D The mud is pretty deep (Pintos rock! :P) and very wet there, with all that standing water on top of it, she'll have the softest of landings ever....and then probably need a couple of people and a winch to hoist her back out. ^_^;;;
I would lead the call for a followup picture - maybe of her splashing down, or struggling to right herself after she's landed - , if I could afford it right now. Maybe in the future sometime. :)
My last comment is this....given how rickety this old bridge is, surprisingly it's STILL more stable than the original Millennium Footbridge was when it first opened (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration....but not by that much). :PPP
