I've been wanting to do this for ages. Figured it was finally time to try it out.
On the left you see a picture I drew back in 2003. This is the first ever representation of my character, Bauske, and also represents my style back then. Now, keep in mind, I did everything on paper and scanned it in, so the quality is a little grainier due to the process.
On the right we have a picture I just drew today. I tried to mimic the pose and clothing and everything the same, although it's still a little off. In the end, I wanted to see how I've improved as an artist.
I know I'm not the best artist out there. Most people on FA are passionate about it. They draw every day and they improve every day because they keep at it and push and don't stop. Me, however? I'm a lazy sonuvabitch who rarely draws, so to see any improvement whatsoever is a nice boost.
In the end, I can definitely see a change. Where the before wasn't so bad, the after has more flair, and a style of its own. I feel like I've at least settled into that for the time being.
We'll see where things take me in the future.

Dude , there's a HUGE improvement !
Like you said , the original isn't bad at all.
But you've found your own style and flow in the recent one.
I mean , your current design is VERY VERY recognisable.
Your art improved much more than mine if we take that time period , so don't be so modest ;)

I do say I much like. Very wonderful art. I like the style and the lines are so clean. I'm curious though, did you draw this pen and paper again? Or are you up in the digital age now?, Tablet. Just wondering.
Anyway, very clean work, nice lines, its very tidy, where as you older pic is slightly more fuzzied (possibly due to copy method, as mentioned) and cluttered. I say you've come a considerable ways in your art. Very commendable. Keep up the good work.

Wow, a dramatic difference indeed! Just goes to show that even when you don't work at it constantly, in that much time there are bound to be changes.
I actually kind of like the older version too, it has a definite uniqueness and adorableness, but I do of course love the smoothness and skill in your newer work. Hope to see more from you indeed, that you can find that something to care about...your art does stand out from everyone else's, I think. The way you do faces and hair, especially.

You're still a lot better than a lot of people here, me included. I've always been fond of your work and style and I practice every day to improve until I find a style I'm comfortable with. Course I haven't been drawing nearly as long. I only started trying to draw in 2005, but that's no excuse. Anyways, you've improved loads. You've found your own style and greatly enhanced upon it. and that alone is what all artists strive for.
