Back when I was sharing worldbuilding notes with people, they contained mention of this very idea. To my dismay, people reacted like it was the most politically incorrect and offensive thing ever. I just thought it was a fun idea to help make my world more believable?

I do not understand why people would think this was politically incorrect. It just references old dragon legends in a way that has nothing to do with politics, not even technically the politics of the setting.
