In the book Authority by J. Vandermeer, the main character finds something strange in his office desk drawer: A plant with a small mount of dirt, in which a deceased mouse is embedded, the plant's roots seeming to use it as sustinence.
What's more, the plant is green and thriving
this book just kept giving me reasons to keep reading it :P

also, Authority is the 2nd of a series of 4 books. If you do end up deciding to try reading it, i would recommend reading Annihilation, which is the first book
It's a pretty short read too, if you get the time would recommend both, they're pretty damn cool! this sketch i made is also based on Annihilation
Oh right, Annihilation! I liked the movie, but I haven't read the book. A friend did, though, and it sounds interesting. I might just start reading the series!
PS it is noteworthy as a biologist to tell you how there is much collaboration between plants and fungi, an evolutionary partnership that goes back millions upon millions of years
same, what Crystlon is reading sounds pretty interesting! I've kind of dropped reading for a few months now but i do wanna pick it back up!
damn that cosmic horro flick sounds super interesting! could it be "Annihiliation" by any chance?? XD sounds very much like that!
