If she had ever studied star portents, she'd know that a starless night promised nothing but catastrophe. She didn't consider the irony of climbing a tower on such a night, either, despite having a passing interest in cartomancy. But up the stones she went, claws digging into gaps in the masonry. The window above glowed with a subtle orange of ever-burning torchlight as she drew closer. The tower's owner was giving a lecture at the Royal College tonight. She knew better than to assume the tower would be unguarded, but there'd hardly ever be a better chance.
Jasper was better suited for this - if only because he could actually hold himself flat against the damn stones - but she wasn't interested in sharing this prize. Sharpening her mind, she summoned another burst of tailwind to give her another push up to her goal, and her claws wrapped around the mantle of the open window. In she flipped, landing softly on padded feet as her tail slid inside behind her. She found herself in a magical laboratory, littered with smuggled paraphernalia hidden far out of the watchful gaze of the maesters down in the College. A few handy trinkets could go missing, and while the wizard would most certainly notice, it'd be hard to make much of a stink about proscribed goodies being misplaced.
But before the cat was able to dig through the treasures for what she came for, a clatter of metal perked her ears. The room became charged with essence, and one of the magic stones she wore on her necklace vibrated in sympathetic excitement. Air magic. Why? Pieces of armor rattled and leapt from where they lay scattered on the floor, snapping into place around the impression of an exceptionally large and burly figure. Gauntlets covered in crusted blood around the knuckles clanged into place over the invisible figure's "paws." Right. Wouldn't want your spectral guardian to go untested, of course.
The snow leopard flexed her fingers, and a long, slender sword appeared from a shiver in the air, like a mirage becoming solid steel. Focusing her will into the pale gray stone she wore close to her chest, she drew forth a crackling ball of energy into her raised paw. Her eyes shimmered with violet light as the floating armor rack charged at her, intent on leaving her little more than a smudge of flattened fur on the wooden floor.
She had planned for guards she could knock around with a few spells.
Now she had to figure out how to take care of this thing without setting the entire place on fire.
Yay, Cerine being a mage in (mostly) canon n.n The outfit belongs to Blok's assassin clan, and you should always dress up like an infamous assassin clan before getting into mischief, right?
