This second illustration features Rudolph’s brother, Randolph. Randy is a good and lawful werewolf devoted to a life of service. He is fiercely loyal and devout, adhering to a complex system of rules and vows with intense discipline. He is a powerful cryomancer by birth and has been blessed with additional divine abilities as a result of strict ascetic training.
Righteous Indignation
The quote from the villainous Ortega is from Legacy of Darkness, wherein he tries to tempt the protagonist, Cornell, into joining him by introducing a monstrously oversized werewolf and explaining that Dracula had made them far more powerful than any amount of training could possibly do for him. Cornell then immediately proves him wrong by defeating the beast. Likewise, Randy is steadfast in his faith and has full confidence in his God-given abilities. Jonathan’s quote from Portrait of Ruin seemed quite fitting here.
Sinestro Custos
Like Dextro, Sinestro Custos (Left Guardian) represents one of the heads of Cerberus. It manifests as the head of a white wolf and is enhanced by the ice element, befitting our frosty friend, Randy.
Trivia
Randy’s pose and outfit are based on the sprite work for Soma Cruz in Aria of Sorrow.
The throwing cross has been a staple of the series since the very first game. Randy has infused ice magic into his version of this classic sub-weapon: look closely and you’ll see the “Frozen Crystals” icon from the American Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse instruction booklet.
