based on a conversation in Ithaca in 2023. Rick was in jail and I mailed this to him, along with many other drawings, song lyrics, and letters. We exchanged letters weekly, until I believe he passed away.
In jail they wouldn't allow him to have my original paintings, only photocopies, because they believed the artwork might be laced with LSD. I wish I had that much acid!
