It isn't just Anthro Cartoons who are members of Chanticleer's secret bubble gum lover's group. Cpl. CT-7733, aka "Rod", who got rolled into Chanticleer's 104th Composite Unit from the 501st Legion, watched several bubble gum blowouts in the Bubble Gum Blowing League and became fascinated with bubble gum.
So, one day, Rod approached Chanticleer in the Resolute's canteen and asked him if there was a dedicated group for bubble gum lovers. To Rod's surprise, Chanticleer said there was such a group, which he started. Chanticleer also said that the group was secret, and that people had to undergo an initiation trial in order to become a member. When Rod asked what that trial was, Chanticleer said that it was to beat him in a bubble blowing contest, and if Rod made Chanticleer's bubble pop first, he was in. Rod was surprised at first, but undaunted, saying he would do it.
Chanticleer gave Rod 10 pieces of Dubble Bubble, and the two of them got chewing. When the gum was free of sugar and nice and stretchy, Chanticleer told Rod to face him and that he would do the countdown on his fingers to signal when to start blowing. Chanticleer counted down, and with that, he and Rod started blowing their bubbles. Rod managed to get his bubble up to 36 inches in diameter, but Chanticleer easily got his bubble up to 5 feet in diameter, and it started smushing against Rod's bubble. Ultimately, Chanticleer made Rod's bubble pop.
At first, Rod felt worried that he didn't get into Chanticleer's group. However, Chanticleer still accepted him in because he put up a good effort. The fact that Rod got his bubble up to 36 inches in diameter was good for a new member, and Chanticleer said he would teach Rod a few tricks to blow really big bubbles. With that, Rod was welcomed into Chanticleer's bubble gum lover's group, befriending others such as Seaman First Class Drake Grayson, Seaman First Class Lionel "Buzz" Buzzard, Seaman First Class Ben Weatherby, Aircraft Mechanic First Class Jake Morris, Sgt. Wolfgang "Wolfie" McWolf, and Cpl. Jonathan Stork.
