So, I am thinking of rearranging my living room, to open up the floor some, and to allow for a new bookcase.

And my favorite way to plan the layout of a room...is to build the entire thing in 3D! :D (moving virtual furniture is much easier)

So yeah, spent the evening measuring everything in my livingroom, and the livingroom itself, and building a copy of my living room in Blender. And learning a lot about global illumination / texture lighting (there are no lights in this scene!)

For the posters, I just grabbed high rez jpegs from The Internet to use as textures, and they looks pretty much like the actual posters do. :D And then a screenshot from my HTPC for the image there (the actual PC case is not in this shot, it always sits beneath the LACK under the tv, so for layout purposes didn't need to be modeled).

The other major difference between this and real life, is that the center speaker and shelf are not actually mounted on the wall, I figured I would wait until I knew which wall they need to go on before drilling holes and installing wall anchors.
